African American Caucus Iredell County

Inspiring Impactful Change

Organizational Profile

Our Beginning

Thirty-nine (39) African American Democratic State Executive Committee (SEC) members had specific concerns that were not addressed by the State SEC. A deliberative assembly was formed and called to order to address these issues.  The SEC adopted a resolution recognizing the creation of a caucus. With unanimous vote, an auxiliary, the African American Caucus of the North Carolina Democratic Party, was chartered by the SEC. The African American Caucus of Iredell County was organized December 2011.  Our first organized meeting was January 2012.
